The Downtown Courtenay Business Association (DCBIA) is coordinating an Earth Day Downtown celebration on Saturday April 20th from 10-4.
The theme is “Backyard Farmers Unite!”. The focus is seed/seedling sales, gardening tips and tools, earth friendly practices, community gardens, composting and soil enrichment.

The event will take place at 5th and England and will feature vendors, info booths, kids activities, live music and other surprises. Local businesses and restaurants in the area will also be featuring spring themed specials. There will be excellent marketing and outreach for this event and our vendors can feel confident there will be good attendance!

There is space at this event for 10 vendors (roughly 10×10 space) of seeds, seedlings, trees/shrubs, planters or gardening supplies.

Locally grown/developed products will be given first priority for selection. The focus is sales for “Backyard Farmers” who are growing more food for their family, learning more about the art of gardening and having fun doing it!

Vending fees are only $35. There is also booth space for local community groups who are connected to this theme! The fee will be $10 and they must provide a hands on/interactive/engaging activity for visitors to the event.

Limited space is available so if you’re interested in being part of this fun filled Urban earth Day event please email Meaghan at cursons@shaw.ca or call 250-218-0520.
