LUSH Valley hosting food workshops this month

LUSH Valley is hosting several food workshops in September, some free and some for a fee, ranging from growing and pruning to cooking classes.  Please visit their website for latest information, as new ones will be posted every month.

Mushroom Growing Workshop               Saturday September 14 12pm-3pm $40/person

Get the resources and hands on experience to grow mushrooms right in your own back yard.  Learn to cultivate and identify wild edible and medicinal mushrooms in your local ecosystem.  Sample a tea made with the most powerful, well-studied and health promoting medicinal mushrooms in the world.  Get tips and recipes on delicious ways to incorporate mushrooms into your diet.

Wild Food Workshop                                 Monday September 30 12pm-3pm   $25/person

Learn to identify and sustainability harvest wild native plants for food, medicine and more.  Meet at Morrison Creek Park.

Pruning Your Berry Bushes                       Saturday, September 22 1pm-3pm $20/person

Minto Road in Royston.  Small farm demo workshops on pruning blueberries and raspberries.

Grow your own edible sprouts and grasses!    Monday September 30th 7-9 pm

$/person

Free Workshops

Drop-In Cooking                                            1st Saturday of the month 3-5pm

We make something different every time.  Please bring something to add to the pot. We sit down and eat together.  Leftovers are    donated to Food Not Bombs.

Fruit of the Week                                          Mondays 1pm-3pm

Free workshop and free food.  Join us in the kitchen to learn about processing fruit and get to take home some of the harvest! We are making pies, sauces, jams, and much more.
